Meet the Staff and Volunteers
Margaret Joscher, serves as President of The Church of Light. Peg has been on the Board of Directors since 1993. She resides in Burlingame, California where she is a small business consultant and a CASA volunteer.
Vicki Brewer serves as Secretary for the Board of Directors. She became a CofL member in 1971 and a Hermetician in 1984. She has served on the Board of Directors since 1985. Her educational background includes a BS in Education from the University of Oklahoma, Association Montessori International Diploma from the AMI Institute in Santa Monica, California and postgraduate work in psychology at California State University, Fullerton. She devotes much of her time overseeing publishing activities, including formatting and printing The Brotherhood of Light Lessons, Art Direction, Contributing Editor for The Church of Light Quarterly and getting the new eBooks into a format readable by electronic devices such as kindles, ebooks. A favorite project was redrawing and coloring the Egyptian tarot cards and she recently created “Meditations on the Egyptian Tarot - Traveling Along the Royal Path”, a Tarot Meditation Book.
Dave Carrothers serves as Treasurer for the Board of Directors. Along with his twin brother Steve, he has been stalwart supporter of the Church of Light for many years. Dave works for a large nonprofit corporation in Reno, Nevada where he resides.
Patrick Ramsey joined The Church of Light in 1995. He is a Hermetician, Certified Teacher, and Membership Minister. Patrick has served on the Board of Directors since 2003. Included in Pat’s many duties is sending New Members Packages, grading exams and supporting students in their home-study courses. Patrick is also a presenter at Church of Light Conventions.
Veiga O'Sickey, a member since 2007, has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. Veiga is a Certified Teacher. She moderates the local first Sunday monthly discussion group, and has been instrumental in encouraging & hosting round table discussions with Albuquerque members and students.
Together she and member Yvette Fortin created the Church of Light Library and Meditation room, organizing and cleaning all the books the church had inherited and acquired over the years. An avid gardener, she is instrumental in organizing garden maintenance parties and loves adding healing plants to the Elizabeth Benjamine Memorial Garden. She has presented at the biennial Church of Light Conventions.
Paul Brewer, Director Emeritus, was president of The Church of Light from 1994 to 2015. He currently volunteers his time to support the work of the Church of Light. He is a Hermetician, Minister and Certified Teacher of the Church of Light and has been a member since 1969. Paul has practiced astrology professionally and has been teaching astrology classes since 1970. See some of his workshops Church of Light TV. He developed the Horoscope astrological software that employs the Hermetic system including Astrodynes taught by the Church of Light. His formal education includes a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from California State University, Fullerton. Retired from The Boeing Company in Anaheim, California, he now resides in New Mexico and devotes most of his time working to bring the Church of Light into the 21st Century.
Christopher Gibson served as President of the Church of Light from July 2015 to July 2019. He is a Hermetician, Minister and Certified Teacher. Some of his classes can be viewed on Church of Light TV. He has appeared on NBC, Fox and CNN and in Who’s Who in America, LA Inside Out, and Faces of Faith. He has been involved with astrology and tarot studies since 1968, working as a professional astrologer since 1977. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Church of Light since 1978. Teaching astrology and the tarot at Los Angeles City College from 1980 - 1996, he has also lectured throughout the US and internationally. A Certified Grand Master of the Tarot with the American Tarot Association, he has been a contributing writer for Gnosis magazine and Starscrolls. He is Editor of the Church of Light Quarterly and Ninth House newsletter, currently making his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Yvette Fortin, a member since 2008, is a Certified Teacher covering such interesting subjects as the Mayan Calendar of 2012, go to Church of Light TV to see this class. She is a presenter at Church of Light conventions covering topics such as “As Above, So Below: Connecting Body/Earth with Spirit/Heaven.”
As a volunteer she archives all our online classes and services and is a member of the Website team. She and member Veiga O’Sickey took on the daunting project of organizing the Church of Light Library and Meditation room, taking every book home to be hand cleaned and ready for use. Yvette is also on the Web team and responsible for editing all the online classes.
Radine Ramsey, is a Hermetician, Certified Teacher, Minister and Mentor in The Church of Light. A member since 1997, she assists Pat in the processing of exams and writing letters. Her volunteer activities at Headquarters include proofreading The Quarterly, Ninth House and other published materials. She serves as a leader in The Order of the Sphinx.
She is an avid photographer and her singing comedy routine based on the Major Arcanum at a convention was extremely entertaining and well received.
Margaret Dissinger is a Minister, Hermetician, and Missionary Teacher, former Board Member, and member of the Order of the Sphinx, an axillary organization of the Church of Light.
Margaret writes a regular column for the Quarterly. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in private practice, and has recently retired after 20+ years in public education. See her class on Ethics for Astrologers on Church of Light TV. She joined the Church of Light in 1970. During her five year stint at International Headquarters in Los Angeles, she taught classes and coordinated study groups. Margaret is a past member of Professional Astrologer Inc. having passed their examinations in 1973. She has taught astrology in Farmington, NM as part of the San Juan College Community Outreach Program, and makes her home in Katy, Texas.
