This is book 1 in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series (referred to as the Brotherhood of Light Lessons) by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
In this book the reader is introduced to the concept of the occult, which means hidden or unseen, and occultism, which is the science of hidden forces and the art of subjecting those forces to human control. The nature and theory of the Inner (or Astral) Plane and how it interacts with the outer or physical plane is introduced along with the theory of astral vibrations and the nature of astral substance.
The chapter on the Doctrine of Nativities covers the nature and origin of the soul, its birth into human form and the importance of the astrological birth chart as a map of the soul and its character. Mediumship, psychic phenomena and the paranormal are covered in detail because of their common association with the occult and swirl of misunderstanding and confusion that surrounds these subjects.
This book is formatted in the easy to use 8 1/2 x 11 student format.

C. C. Zain is the pen name used by Elbert Benjamine (1882-1951), the noted astrologer, naturalist and occultist, for those writings done under the auspices of The Brotherhood of Light during the years 1914 - 1934. This body of knowledge has become known as The Brotherhood of Light Lessons.
Elbert Benjamine was one of the most prolific astrological writers of the 20th century. In addition to the twenty-three volumes of the Brotherhood of Light series published under the penname C. C. Zain, Benjamine also wrote over fifty books and hundreds of magazine articles. A scholar who mastered every physical science of his time, Benjamine brought the same vigor to his exploration of the metaphysical sciences. Like the writings of Bailey, Blavatsky, Steiner, and Heindl, the works of C. C. Zain (Elbert Benjamine) have impacted the lives of thousands of students of Western Occultism.
Elbert Benjamine was born Benjamin P. Williams in the small town of Adel, Iowa, December 12, 1882. He was a natural psychic and seer. In his youth, his heightened awareness brought him into contact with those who had passed from this plane to the next. In the autumn of 1898, he began his esoteric studies. By 1900 he had contacted The Brotherhood of Light and began serious study of astrology. His father was a doctor and deacon in the Disciples of Christ church in Iowa, where the community strongly disapproved of any interest in astrology and the occult. For this reason, upon moving to Los Angeles, he changed his name to Elbert Benjamine in order to protect his family. In the spring of 1910 he gave his promise to write the Twenty-One Brotherhood of Light Courses covering astrology, alchemy and magic, under the penname of C. C. Zain. From that time until his death in 1951, he devoted his life’s energy and personal resources to writing the lessons, and to establishing The Church of Light as a vehicle for disseminating The Brotherhood of Light teachings.
This is book 2 in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series (referred to as the Brotherhood of Light Lessons) by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
In this book the student is introduced to the most important concepts underlying hermetic and occult esoteric studies. These concepts include the importance of the Two Keys to unlocking the mysteries: Astrology and the Tarot; an introduction to basic astrological principles; the mission of the soul struggling to attain Self-Conscious Immortality; the Doctrine of Signatures and the key features of the Tarot, Kabbalah; and facts and fancies about reincarnation.
This book, together with Course 1, Laws of Occultism, and Course 3, Spiritual Alchemy, are designed to provide the student with the foundation necessary to delve deeper into occult, esoteric and kabbalistic studies.

This is the third book in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
In this book, the author thoroughly explains the purpose of, and methods used in, spiritual alchemy and how it relates to evolution of consciousness and the experiences and events of everyday life. The ancient alchemist sought transmutation and immortality. For the soul to be immortal it must build for itself an imperishable spiritual body in which it can function after the dissolution of both the physical and astral forms.
Topics include spiritual transmutation, how the metals of alchemy relate to events in the life and their astrological associations, the Reverberatory Furnace, the First Matter, the Philosopher’s Stone, the Elixir Vitae, the Great Work and developing higher consciousness. The alchemical metals of lead, tin, iron, copper, mercury, silver, and gold are are described symbols of the many and varied life experiences the soul must undergo in order to build a spiritual body.

Of all the energies that influence people, none have a more powerful effect than their own thoughts. Directing one’s thinking is the most potent of all forces to control one’s life and destiny.
This book describes how the astral body (unconscious mind) is thought-built and describes its various elements and thought-cell structure. The book teaches you how the astral body or subconscious mind can be altered through the application of directed thinking and induced emotion. How to use and interpret dreams, the use of demonstration, affirmation and subliminal thinking are thoroughly discussed.

The Full Set of 48 Cards are made up of 36 Decanates and 12 Sun Signs. Each Card has a Constellation pictured on the front and Spiritual text written on the backside.
Early Classical astrologers such as Aratos, Ptolemy, and Marcus Manilus recognized 48 constellations; the 12 signs of the zodiac and the 36 extra-zodiacal constellations known as decans. The word decan comes from the Greek meaning “ten” and each decanate corresponds to a ten-degree section of the zodiac. The decanates first evolved in Egyptian astrology before being absorbed by the Greco-Roman world.
These cards and the stories depicted will take you on a journey through the folklore and mythologies of the classical world. Through the symbolism of archetypes and astro-mythology you will discover keys to understanding character, personality, and the unique spiritual message that is encoded in every birth chart.
The Spiritual Text comes from Course Book 07( Spiritual Astrology) and includes the mythological story behind each Decanate. These full color post cards are a great tool for deeper learning and meditation.
The 48 Cards included are: Aries
Triangulum, Eridanus, and Perseus Taurus

This is the eighth book in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
A horary chart is a map of the mental factors active in the mind of the querent at the time and place a question is asked. This branch of astrology is used to discern the nature of the past, present, and future of the matter inquired about. This book is suitable for beginning, intermediate and advanced students of astrology. It provides a complete treatise on Horary and Electional astrology, in addition to providing the basic technical aspects of chart delineation.
The first two chapters provide the beginning or intermediate student with all the important concepts for interpreting any horoscope: natal or horary, and are required reading for the more advanced courses in natal astrology. Chapters three through five teach the student how to interpret a horary chart erected to answer a particular question posed by the querent. Chapter six covers Electional astrology and teaches the student how to select the best time for any undertaking. The final two chapters cover the technical aspects of calculating a horoscope and constructing an astrological chart.
This course is often chosen by beginning students of astrology for its technical lesson “How to Erect a Horoscope” as well as for its clearly organized system for judging any astrological chart

This is the ninth book in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
It teaches that character is destiny and that character is thought-built, being the result of the various complex thought-cell structures that reside in the astral body or unconscious mind, and their interaction with the individual’s physical form, mental faculties and the environment. Thus an individual’s fortune and success in the various departments of life is determined by a combination of mental, biological and environmental factors. While the individual may have less control over biological factors, the environment can be manipulated to advantage, and thought-cell structures organized within the astral body on the inner plane may be modified or reconditioned. These thought cells were initially formed before birth and are mapped by the various elements in the astrological chart of birth. They continue to be modified after birth by experience, dominant trends of thinking and environmental circumstances. You will learn in detail how to recondition discordant mental elements and reveals the inner nature of poverty, failure and disease, and how to find and apply mental antidotes and absent treatments.

This is part one of the tenth book in a series of 21 Brotherhood of Light Courses by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
Although it is an intermediate-level astrology course on interpreting a natal horoscope, it is suitable for beginning students and is an invaluable resource for every professional astrologer. The reader is introduced to the Hermetic system of astrology in a step by step fashion explaining exactly what an astrological birth chart represents and what it can and cannot do.
The book presents a detailed list of what a complete astrological reading might include. It is one of the few astrological textbooks that discuss the interpretation for each of the 36 decanates (ten-degree sections of the zodiac). The book teaches the student how to assess the natal chart for temperament, disposition, mental ability, business factors, finances, vocational selection, fortune with love, marriage, partnership, domestic relations, friends, open enemies and personal restrictions and hidden influences.

This book is part 2 of Course 10 in the 21 Brotherhood of Light Course series by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
It is an intermediate to advanced level astrology course on calculating and interpreting natal horoscope progressions and transits. This book, which was originally entitled Predicting Events, teaches the student how to calculate and interpret secondary (Major), Minor and Transit progressed aspects of a natal chart.
The book shows how the movement of the planets in the chart after birth reveal probable future trends through indicating the manner in which an individual’s astral (unconscious mind) thought cell structures are stimulated and work to attract activities and events into the life. With this information the individual may seize opportunities or take precautionary action, and through various techniques presented in the book, initiate mental and physical actions to achieve the most desirable outcome. This book discusses how to calculate and interpret the Hermetic system of major (secondary) and minor progressions, how transit aspects act as triggers for major progressions, and how to rectify a horoscope when the exact birth time is unknown.

Brotherhood of LightFull Color Egyptian Tarot Cards
These exquisite full-color tarot cards are a system of symbolical pictograph through which Egyptian initiates conveyed spiritual ideas derived from a still more ancient past.
As astrology is the Golden Key and the tarot is the Silver Key, this is the only deck that correctly indicates the astrological correspondence on each card and the numerological symbolism associated with the Roman, Hebrew, and Egyptian alphabets.
This text explores the relationships between the Tarot, kabala, astrology and ancient numerology. Integral to this system is the correspondence of the 12 zodiacal signs and 36 decanate constellations with the Major and Minor Arcana.
The Brotherhood of Light Tarot deck also integrates the symbolism of colors and geometric shapes. The back of the cards, inspired by the traditional “carpet pages” found in illuminated ancient manuscripts, features two mirrored images with core diamond shapes.
The original black and white version of this deck was published in 1936 by the Church of Light with card designs by Gloria Beresford. In 2003 Vicki Brewer redrew the original black and white images, and in 2009 she redesigned the cards as full-color Egyptian Tarot cards.
Accompanying the Tarot deck is a 48-page instruction booklet, excerpted from The Sacred Tarot, which provides brief descriptions and interpretations for each of the 78 cards; 22 Major Arcana, 40 Minor Arcana, and 16 Court Cards. Also included are instructions for reading the Tarot cards using two popular spreads. The booklet outlines the history of the Egyptian tarot deck, descriptions of the cards and instructions for use including various spreads.
A more detailed exposition and instructions for use in divination and spiritual science can be found in the corresponding book (CS06) The Sacred Tarot by C. C. Zain.
"This is the most metaphysically integrated tarot deck I've ever used. If you're an astrologer, this is a must-have deck."
--- Allyn McCray, Church of Light Hermetician and Certified Teacher.

This book is a compilation of the authentic Brotherhood of Light courses on Hermetic Alchemy. It consists of eight volumes and over 1600 pages. There are seven courses in the Alchemy branch of the Brotherhood of Light series. Zain’s focus for these studies is to present a unified understanding of how a student may apply Hermetic tradition and principles to build character, attract desired events into the life and significantly increase one’s happiness, usefulness and spirituality.
Alchemy is the study of transmuting planetary energies by understanding the underlying principles and symbolism of turning base metals into gold, which to the ancient alchemist was the symbol of a highly functional and resilient personality and spirit. It is a training in the refinement of character and the achievement of higher states of consciousness. Spiritual Alchemy is the art of transmuting mental force into spiritual force, including the realization of the higher states of consciousness. Mental Alchemy is the discipline of transforming destructive and dysfunctional thoughts into constructive thoughts and thereby controlling one’s destiny using mental resources and power. Natural Alchemy (Evolution of Life and Evolution of Religion) explores the origin and evolution of life on earth which provides the platform for developing ever more complex forms with greater levels of skills. It also delves into comparative religion and how religious thought is not static and has evolved through different cultures in different epochs. Occultism Applied is the practical application of metaphysics to live a happier, more constructive and prosperous life. Cosmic Alchemy ponders the transformation of the whole of society by contemplating what types of social and personal action are most beneficial for achieving Universal Welfare. Organic Alchemy is the science of the evolutionary changes by which the Soul progresses through mineral, plant, animal and human forms while building the spiritual body it will occupy after this life and in higher realms of evolution. Personal Alchemy reveals the character changes the devotee of The Religion of the Stars must take as he/she ascends the spiritual ladder to become an Exalted Adept.

This book is a compilation of the authentic Brotherhood of Light courses on Hermetic Magic. It consists of seven volumes and over 1600 pages. There are seven courses in the Magic branch of the Brotherhood of Light series. Zain’s focus for these studies is to present a unified understanding of how a student may apply Hermetic tradition and principles to build character, attract desired events into the life and significantly increase one’s happiness, usefulness and spirituality.
Magic is the process of bringing about changes in the human condition and physical environment through the application of non-physical forces. The work of magic is to actualize the power of the soul to impact physical substance. The first book, Laws of Occultism, is a study of energies hidden to the physical eyes, exploring the magnetic relationship between interior dimensions of energy (thought, emotion and those who has passed on) and the physical world in which we live. It also explores the use of extrasensory perception, psychokinetic power and psychic phenomena. Ancient Masonry explores universal symbolism, ancient rituals, the use of creative energies in the process of soul growth. Esoteric Psychology is the study of our mental processes, including the proper use of thought, the use of creative imagination and the cultivation of subliminal thinking. The Sacred Tarot unveils the oral traditions of Kabala and Egyptian Initiation. It syncretizes astrology and numerology with the tarot Arcanum, and outlines how to best use tarot cards for divination. Divination and Character Reading delves into the process of revealing hidden information by various means and divinatory instruments. Imponderable Forces considers a myriad of unseen influences, including rituals, invocations, exorcisms, magic circles and the control of elementals. It also trains the student in techniques for protection against undesirable psychic influences. The final book in the Magic series is The Next Life which contemplates the conditions met after the dissolution of one’s physical body. It describes the structure and environment of the Inner Plane where we function after death.

As human beings we live in kinship with all life forms. In addition to discussing the modern concepts of natural evolution, this book explores how and why the soul evolves by attracting increasingly more complex physical forms which enable it to achieve greater degrees of consciousness—ultimately arriving at Self Conscious Awareness as a human. The book presents a rare and unique perspective on how natural selection and adaptation are influenced by psychokinesis, extra-sensory perception and the inner plane environment.

Course 12-1 of 21 in the Brotherhood of Light Study Program.

Evolution of Religion explores how contemporary religious beliefs and rituals have evolved from a more ancient past. The book traces the origins of the most primitive religions and shows how these and their cultures gradually developed into today’s more complex systems of belief. This book offers a comparative analysis of several present-day religions such as Native American, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Christianity as well as the ancient stellar religions. It then sets forth the basic tenets of “The Religion of the Stars” and the importance of astrology in religion’s road map.

Author Bio:

Mundane astrology is the study of how astrological influences affect nations, cities, states, communities, corporations and groups. Local and world trends can be studied through the use of mundane cycle charts of the major planets. This book is one of the rare technical manuals covering the astrology of world affairs. It teaches the student how to construct and interpret mundane cycle charts. It shows how to determine the timing of the birth of a corporation or nation-state. The book covers the cycles of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, giving many real-world examples of how aspects in the charts are linked to world events. The book provides examples of planets transiting through a sign and Major (Secondary) progressed aspects in the birth charts of nations and cities. It also discusses Sun cycle charts, major conjunctions of the planets, moon cycles and eclipses. Abundant real-world examples of these cycle charts, their aspects and the associated events taken directly from the World Almanac, show how knowledge of astrological trends enable organizations and nation-states to take precautionary actions.

Every individual is being trained to perform a unique job in God's Great Evolutionary Plan. This book describes how this is possible and provides direction for discovering one’s unique abilities or Cosmic Work. More than an intellectual discussion of occult knowledge, this book shows how to apply the principles embodied in astrology, esoteric psychology, mental and spiritual alchemy, diet, exercise and breathing to improve one's daily life. It offers practical lessons on how to be happy, how to create personal prosperity, how to keep young, how to be attractive, how to gain employment, how to have friends, and how to be successful in marriage. The author shows how it is possible, by changing one's habit systems with directed thinking and induced emotion, to live a truly constructive life and significantly increase happiness, usefulness and spirituality.

In this book, the author provides a rare and detailed study on astrometeorology, the science of astrological weather predicting. The books demonstrates how studying the art of weather predicting using astrological methods provides a valuable tool particularly useful for those involved in agriculture, aviation, travel and even planning.
Weather charts may be used to determine variations from normal weather patterns by comparing Temperature, Wind and Moisture charts for a given location and time. Astrological weather predicting uses the cycles of the Sun, Moon, and Mercury to draw correlations between astral and physical weather conditions. It is one of the few texts available entirely devoted to astrological influences on the weather.

This is the sixteenth book in a series of 21 Brotherhood of Light Courses by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
The book describes the substance and structure of the astral or stellar body. The author describes how natal and progressed aspects in the chart map aerials between various thought-cell structures in the stellar body that pick up energy similar to a radio receiver. Since the positions of the planets in the birth chart indicate the diseases toward which an individual may be predisposed, the natal and progressed planetary configurations of 160 diseases are listed. A detailed description of how to use Astrodynes for measuring the power and harmony of planets, signs and houses in both the natal and progressed chart is provided by the author, who invented the concept. Instructions are given on how to use Astrodynes to determine the source within the stellar or astral body that is responsible for the individual's disease or discomfort. Various Stellar Treatments, which are methods for applying appropriate healing energies to the compartment of the stellar body causing the problem, are discussed.
This book is the definitive text on calculating Astrodynes, a technique developed by Elbert Benjamine and the Church of Light, for precise determination of the astrological power and harmony or discord of any planet, aspect, sign or house in the chart. The use of Astrodynes provides a method that greatly facilitates astrological analysis in all departments of life.

Author Bio:

This is the nineteenth book in a series of 21 Brotherhood of Light Courses by C. C. Zain on the Hermetic Sciences, Astrology, Alchemy, Tarot, Kabbalah and the Occult.
The book explains how all forms of life manifests a soul governed by one uniform and universal Law of Soul Progression.
Human beings differ from the innumerable species of animals and plants only by degree of evolution. All forms of life encounter the problem of securing adequate nutrition, protection from enemies, adaptation to the environment, finding a suitable mate, and providing for the needs of offspring. This course instructs the student how pleasure and pain are not reward or punishment by God but merely Nature’s way of informing any life form as to its degree of success in adapting to its environment.
The book teaches the wisdom of the Universal Law of Compensation, the Universal Moral Code and how to discern God’s Great Plan.
