There are many traditions surrounding the history and use of the tarot. In the Brotherhood of Light tradition the tarot card images were originally derived from bas-reliefs found in the subterranean initiation chambers of the Egyptian Mystery School. These images comprise the Royal Path of life and provided insights on the evolution of the soul back towards spirit after its descent into matter. In this Intensive weekend we will concentrate on the use of tarot in divination, or foreknowledge of the future. The student will learn the basic meanings for each of the major arcanum, minor arcanum, and court cards.

A San Francisco native, Allyn McCray began her fascination with the Tarot in 1971 after discovering a deck among herbs, potions, and other curiosities in an occult shop near her apartment. She was recognized by the American Tarot Association (ATA) as a Certified Tarot reader in 1999 and had her Tarot poetry published in the ATA Newsletter. An experienced Internet reader, she has been regularly being featured on the websites, Psychicnut and Roadtalk. She also reads professionally in public and private venues in Santa Fe, NM.
In this two-hour presentation we will explore the history and background of the tarot, its function in 18th, 19th and 20th century Mystery School Traditions, and the process of divination—the foreknowledge of future events

Christopher Gibson began his astrology and tarot studies in 1968, and since 1977 he has worked as a professional astrologer with an international clientele. He taught astrology and tarot from 1980 – 1996, through Community Services at Los Angeles City College, and has lectured extensively both internationally and throughout the US.
Christopher has held memberships with the Association for Astrological Networking, American Federation of Astrologers, Professional Astrologers Incorporated, and the National Council for Geocosmic Research. He is a Certified Grand Master of the Tarot with the American Tarot Association.
He has been a contributing writer for Gnosis magazine, the Church of Light Quarterly, and Starscrolls a monthly astrological calendar.
His astrological education is with the Church of Light in which he is certified as a Hermetician and Ordained Minister. Christopher has served on the board of Directors of the Church of Light since 1978 in varying capacities as president, vice-president, and corporate secretary. He also served as vice president for the New Mexico Chapter of NCGR.
Christopher has been featured in Who’s Who in America, LA Inside Out, and Faces of Faith. He currently makes his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In this five-week course we will explore the various processes of intuition and how they operate as well as why some persons appear to be more intuitive than others.
We will also look at how intuition is involved in the use of tarot in divination, or foreknowledge of the future. The student will learn the basic meanings for each of the major arcanum, minor arcanum, and court cards. Emphasis will be placed on how the cards can be read in a variety of tarot spreads. Additional insights will be gained by approaching the cards as the pictured symbols of astrology.

Understanding the Minors of Egyptian Tarot explores the Mundane, Astrological, and Spiritual interpretations for each Minor Arcana of the Brotherhood of Light deck.
